Diaspora Relations Bureau Launches the Sectoral Working Group «Economy and Investments»

The Diaspora Relations Bureau of the Republic of Moldova has officially launched the Sectoral Working Group «Economy and Investments» within the Diaspora Engagement Platform (DEP). This initiative is aimed at uniting highly qualified professionals from the Moldovan diaspora. The goal is to share expertise and best practices in the areas of economic development, entrepreneurship, and investment.

Objectives and Mandate of the Working Group

The «Economy and Investments» Sectoral Working Group will function as an advisory body with the following objectives:
● Facilitate knowledge transfer and share practical experience from highly skilled diaspora experts;
● Implement international standards and best practices across public institutions and the private sector;
● Promote entrepreneurship, innovation, and the development of new initiatives;
● Attract investments and foster strategic partnerships;
● Support digitalization, enhance cybersecurity, and promote trusted digital services.

By engaging diaspora experts, the working group will provide an effective platform for active participation in Moldova’s economic development and reform processes.

Online Consultations for Diaspora Professionals

The Diaspora Relations Bureau invites diaspora professionals to participate in two online sessions. These sessions will present the working group’s objectives, structure, and public sector requirements in the fields of economy, entrepreneurship, and investment:

These sessions offer diaspora professionals the opportunity to directly contribute to Moldova’s economic growth. They can exchange expertise and support the implementation of strategic reforms and projects in the country.

DEP Platform and UN Partnership

The DEP Platform currently hosts two successfully operating sectoral groups:
● «Education and Research»
● «Democracy and Good Governance»

The «Economy and Investments» initiative is implemented by the Diaspora Relations Bureau in partnership with UNDP Moldova. It forms part of the UN Joint Programme in Moldova on harnessing the positive impact of migration. The initiative is supported by the Migration Multi-Partner Trust Fund.

The Diaspora Relations Bureau encourages highly skilled diaspora professionals to join the «Economy and Investments» Working Group. Their active contribution is vital to strengthening Moldova’s economic and investment potential.
