Moldova HiTech Park in Stăuceni: New Technology and Innovation Hub Could Attract €600 Million in Investment

The Moldova HiTech Park master plan has been presented in Stăuceni, outlining the vision for a major new technology and innovation hub in the Republic of Moldova. The project is designed to bring together technology companies, research centres, modern laboratories, and digital innovation facilities while creating the conditions to attract approximately €600 million in investment.

The presentation was attended by Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Vasile Tofan, who highlighted the strategic importance of Moldova HiTech Park for the country’s long-term economic development, technological competitiveness, and investment potential.

Moldova HiTech Park to Become a New Technology and Innovation Hub

Moldova HiTech Park in Stăuceni is envisioned as a modern ecosystem bringing together technology, research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital services.

The future technology park is expected to provide infrastructure for companies, research institutions, laboratories, and teams developing innovative digital solutions. The project is intended to strengthen Moldova’s innovation ecosystem while creating new opportunities for businesses, investors, researchers, and technology professionals.

During the presentation, Prime Minister Vasile Tofan praised the teams involved in developing the concept and emphasized the importance of strong cooperation between the public and private sectors in delivering a project of this scale.

«A platform of this scale has the potential to fundamentally transform our country’s development path and create new opportunities for both people and the economy», Prime Minister Vasile Tofan stated.

According to the Prime Minister, the government’s role is to provide predictable conditions for investors, develop the necessary infrastructure, and create an environment in which the private sector can effectively apply capital, expertise, and technological know-how.

Moldova HiTech Park Could Attract Around €600 Million in Investment

According to preliminary estimates, the development of Moldova HiTech Park could create the conditions for attracting approximately €600 million in investment, making the project potentially significant for Moldova’s technology sector and wider economy.

The master plan provides for the development of:
● facilities for technology companies and research centres;
● modern research and innovation laboratories;
● dedicated spaces for developing digital solutions;
● a future state data centre;
● modern engineering and transport infrastructure.

The project also places significant emphasis on sustainability and quality of the urban environment. At least 40% of the Moldova HiTech Park site is planned to be dedicated to green areas and open spaces.

This approach is intended to combine technological development with a modern, sustainable, and people-oriented environment.

New Transport Infrastructure Planned for Stăuceni

The development of Moldova HiTech Park will also involve improvements to transport infrastructure and connectivity in Stăuceni.

A technical solution is currently being developed for a new interchange on the R6 road, designed to connect the Moldova HiTech Park area with the future Bucovina Boulevard and improve access to the technology hub.

The infrastructure project is expected to become the first three-level road interchange in the Republic of Moldova, representing an important step in modernising transport connectivity around the future park.

Improved infrastructure could also support greater mobility, facilitate access for businesses and employees, and contribute to the broader economic development of the surrounding area.

Technical and Financial Preparation of Moldova HiTech Park Continues

Technical and financial preparations for Moldova HiTech Park are currently underway.

Discussions are being held with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) regarding potential mechanisms for supporting the further implementation of the project.

The presented master plan will also undergo public consultation organised by the Stăuceni local authorities. Following the consultation process, the proposed concept is expected to form the basis for the development of the Zonal Urban Plan for the area.

These stages will help define the planning, infrastructure, technical, and investment framework required for the future development of the technology park.

Moldova HiTech Park as an Investment in Moldova’s Digital Future

The creation of Moldova HiTech Park could become an important milestone in the development of the Republic of Moldova’s innovation and digital economy.

By bringing together technology companies, research institutions, digital expertise, modern infrastructure, and private investment, the project aims to create an ecosystem capable of supporting innovation, entrepreneurship, research, and technological development.

Moldova HiTech Park could also strengthen the country’s attractiveness for international investors, create new opportunities for highly skilled professionals, and support the development of competitive technology-driven businesses.

Moldova HiTech Park is more than a major infrastructure project. It represents a strategic investment in knowledge, innovation, human capital, technological competitiveness, and the European future of the Republic of Moldova.
