On 22 January 2025, the Government of the Republic of Moldova approved the appointment of a new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Moldova to Ukraine, entrusting this key diplomatic mission to Mr. Victor Chirilă.
The decision was adopted during a Cabinet of Ministers meeting in Chișinău, as part of a new package of diplomatic appointments to four strategic countries.
