State Secretary Valeriu Mija Meets with the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Moldova

Discussions on Regional Security and Bilateral Cooperation

On March 28, 2025, in Chișinău, State Secretary Valeriu Mija welcomed the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Moldova, His Excellency Paun Rohovei. This visit was a courtesy one.

The meeting focused on key regional security issues and ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine. Particular attention was given to the evolving security landscape, shared challenges, and effective strategies. The aim was to strengthen the resilience of both nations in the face of emerging threats.

Political Settlement of the Transnistrian Conflict

The parties also addressed the political resolution of the Transnistrian conflict, taking into account the Republic of Moldova’s European integration path. They underscored the importance of a coordinated international approach. A pivotal role was played by the OSCE and the European Union.

Support for Ukraine and Regional Stability

State Secretary Valeriu Mija reaffirmed Moldova’s steadfast support for Ukraine in its pursuit of a just and lasting peace. He emphasized that Ukraine’s security and stability are essential pillars of both regional and European security.

Commitment to Strengthening the Strategic Partnership
