Today we commemorate a significant occasion for the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine – the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
This date represents not only a historical juncture but also a profound symbol of enduring friendship, mutual support, and a shared commitment to peace and prosperity. Throughout these years, our nations have cultivated robust partnerships founded on mutual trust, respect, and shared values.
From the outset of the unjust and brutal war, Moldova has stood in solidarity with Ukraine, extending its heartfelt support and opening its borders to those seeking refuge. Humanitarian aid, provision of shelter for refugees, and collaborative international initiatives have served as manifestations of the genuine fraternity between our peoples. Today, we reaffirm our unwavering position: Ukraine possesses the inalienable right to Independence, Sovereignty, and a just and lasting peace. We stand resolutely in support of freedom and express our unwavering confidence in the victory of the Ukrainian people.
Our nations have consistently provided mutual support on the international stage, and this enduring collaboration propels us towards our shared objective – a peaceful future within the European family. Our peoples are entitled to a dignified existence characterized by security, liberty, and opportunity. Together, we are stronger, and together, we are forging a new chapter in history.
We celebrate this anniversary with a reaffirmation of our steadfast partnership, enduring friendship, and shared vision for the future.
