The Minister of Energy of the Republic of Moldova, Dorin Junghietu, recently paid an official visit to Kyiv, where he met with the Minister of Energy of Ukraine, German Galushchenko. The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in the field of energy security.

During the meeting, the parties addressed the following issues:
- Strengthening strategic cooperation to ensure energy stability for both Moldova and Ukraine;
- Developing alternative gas supply routes and exploring the possibility of utilizing Ukraine’s underground gas storage facilities for Moldova’s energy reserves;
- Advancing collaboration in the electricity sector, particularly in integrating energy markets and facilitating electricity imports from EU countries through ENTSO-E;
- Enhancing coordination with the European Union on energy-related matters.
Outlook for Future Cooperation
In addition, the Moldovan delegation, which included representatives from Energocom, held meetings with the leadership of D.Trading and Naftogaz Ukraine. The discussions highlighted the strong existing commercial partnership and explored opportunities for further expansion.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation in the energy sector, underscoring its role in strengthening regional energy security and advancing shared objectives for European integration.
