Moldova National Wine Day 2025: Grand Prix Award Ceremony and Growing Wine Exports

On October 4 – 5, 2025, Chișinău will host the 24th edition of Moldova National Wine Day. This is a large-scale celebration dedicated to the rich traditions and modern achievements of Moldovan winemaking.

Grand Prix Award for Excellence in Winemaking

As part of National Wine Day, the prestigious Grand Prix Award will once again be presented. This award honors exceptional contributions to the country’s viticulture and winemaking sector. This symbolic statuette is annually awarded to a company that has demonstrated outstanding product quality. The company must also have played a significant role in developing wine tourism in Moldova.

This year’s recipient of the Grand Prix was selected by the Working Commission of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry of the Republic of Moldova. The selection was based on applications submitted by leading wineries across the country.

Program Highlights

The 2025 National Wine Day will bring together 106 wineries at the Great National Assembly Square in Chișinău. Visitors will enjoy wine tastings, interactive sessions at the Wine School, and creative workshops. These will include pottery, weaving, sculpture, and traditional Moldovan dance.

A key innovation this year is the introduction of digital entry tickets. This reflects international best practices in event management and accessibility.

International Recognition of Moldovan Wines

Moldovan winemakers continue to gain recognition on the global stage. Recently, Moldova earned 21 medals at the prestigious Concours Mondial de Bruxelles Sparkling Wine Edition. These include 5 gold and 16 silver awards, further reinforcing the country’s reputation as a producer of world-class wines.

In addition, Moldova’s wine exports have shown positive growth in 2025. In just the first eight months of the year, Moldovan wines reached 65 countries worldwide. This includes 59% of exports directed to European Union member states.

A Symbol of National Identity

More than just a festival, Moldova National Wine Day represents a symbol of the country’s cultural heritage and economic progress. Wine remains a true ambassador of Moldova on the global stage. It enhances its international image and strengthens its economic presence worldwide.
