Moldova and Ukraine Discuss Prospects for European Integration and Interparliamentary Cooperation

On September 2, 2025, Chișinău hosted a working meeting that reaffirmed the strategic partnership between the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.

The Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Policy and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova, Ina Coșeru, held discussions with Paun Rohovei. He is the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Moldova. Arseniy Pushkarenko, Member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation, also participated.

Key Issues on the Agenda

During the meeting, the parties addressed a range of pressing topics, including:
● the challenges faced by both states in the context of the Russian Federation’s aggression against Ukraine;
● the shared prospects for advancing European integration;
● the strengthening of interparliamentary cooperation;
● enhanced collaboration between Moldova and Ukraine in the international arena.

Democracy and Moldova’s European Course

Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of conducting democratic parliamentary elections in the Republic of Moldova. These elections are considered a pivotal step on the country’s path toward accession to the European Union.

Strategic Partnership

The discussions in Chișinău once again underscored that the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine are advancing together on their European path. The two nations remain united by common values – democracy, peace, and the aspiration for sustainable development within the European community.
